2014 RCA President's Award
gategroup Customer Dedicated Executive Chef Christian Hallowell received the 2014 President’s Award from the Research Chefs Association (RCA) of North America. Each year, the RCA recognizes individuals for their contributions to the industry and the organization. One of the most prestigious of these is the President’s Award, which honors a member who demonstrates the highest level of commitment and excellence to the organization and the advancement of RCA’s fast-growing discipline of Culinology®, the blending of culinary arts and the science of food. In a press release announcing the award, RCA stated that Chef Christian "goes above and beyond his duties as an RCA Regional key contact" and that "his assurance and energy make him an invaluable member of the RCA and food R&D."
Separately, Chef Christian is participating on a panel discussion called "Millennials: What’s On Their Plate" at the annual Institute of Food Technologists convention in June 2014. Chef Christian will join panelists from Dunkin’ Brands and Pizza Hut to discuss Millennials' culinary preferences and what food developers should consider early and throughout the product innovation cycle in meeting this demographic’s needs. "It's an honor to represent gategroup and RCA at this world-class event," said Christian.
Chef Christian joined gategroup in September 2013 as the Customer Dedicated Executive Chef for Delta Air Lines. Based in Atlanta, he supports the airline and provides strategic vision to help Delta offer a remarkable inflight experience. He has been a member of the RCA since 2008.
