Song First to Offer Travelers Pre-order Meals

Gate Gourmet and e-gatematrix create convenient option

MEMPHIS, TN, October 30, 2003 - SongTM, Delta Air Lines' new low-fare air service, has announced that it will offer pre-order meals on all of their 142 daily flights.

Gate Gourmet, a worldwide leader in airline catering, and e-gatematrix, the technology division of Gate Gourmet, teamed up to create an online pre-order Web site, www.flysong.com, to give Song customers the chance to select and order restaurant-quality food for their flight before they even board the plane. Song is the first air service in the United States to take advantage of the technology.

"The concept of pre-order is vital to the success of the direct-to-passenger ser-vice program," said George Alvord, president of Gate Gourmet Americas Division. "The pre-order Web site will assure travelers that they will receive the menu selections they want. At the same time, airlines will be able to better estimate how much food to bring on board."
