


Sydney, February 11, 2004 - Gate Gourmet International and Jetstar, Qantas' new low cost carrier, start a direct-to-passenger sales program with the new airline's launch in May 2004. The global airline caterer Gate Gourmet provides food, beverages and merchandise for sale on board of the aircraft.
The new carrier will commence its service with 14 B717 aircraft and will later ex-pand the service with 23 A320's. During the service introduction phase, Gate Gourmet will sell soft drinks and al-coholic beverages, sandwiches, cereals, salads, a large variety of sweet and savory snacks, and chocolates. In a later phase, hot meals such as soups will be added to the menu selection.
Gate Gourmet's President and CEO Henning Boysen said: "We are delighted to have been chosen by Jetstar to be their partner. It is always exciting to be involved in the start-up of a new airline, and we are totally committed to helping to get Jetstar off to a flying start."
