Gate Gourmet Appoints Mark E. Wall as President Asia/Pacific Division

Gate Gourmet, the world's largest independent airline catering and logistics company, has appointed Mark E. Wall as President of its Asia/Pacific division and Group Senior Vice President, effective immediately.

Wall joins the company after 22 years with General Electric Corp.'s plastics division in various executive capacities and locations around the world. As president of the Asia/Pacific Division for Gate Gourmet, he oversees the operations of nine flight kitchens in seven countries. He is based in Tokyo, and reports to Guy Dubois, Group Executive Vice President, Finance and Administration Chief Administrative Officer.

"Mark's extensive experience in the Asia/Pacific region will allow him to quickly assume the leadership role for our operations there," Dubois said. "We welcome the talent and expertise he brings to Gate Gourmet, which will be instrumental in our efforts to attract additional Asia/Pacific customers to our network."

Wall's most recent position was as president of GE Plastics Japan, where he introduced Lean Manufacturing, implemented Six Sigma processes and spurred a 30 percent revenue increase over two years. Before his appointment to the Tokyo position, he also served as president of GE Plastics in Shanghai, China, and South America, based in Sao Paulo, Brazil. Prior positions included various management capacities in the U.S. and Holland. Wall holds a bachelor's of science degree in plastics engineering from Lowell Technological Institute (now the University of Massachusetts at Lowell).
