NIgel Daniel Joins Fernley/International Aviation Services

LONDON, October 1, 2007 – Fernley/International Aviation Services, a group of U.K.-based airline ground handling and support businesses recently acquired by Gate Gourmet, announced that Nigel Daniel is joining the company as Managing Director for the U.K. and Ireland.

Daniel most recently was Executive Vice President Ground Handling for Brussels-based Aviapartner, also an aviation ground handling service provider. Prior to joining Aviapartner in 2006, Daniel was Executive Vice President, Europe, Africa, Asia at Swissport International and Chief Executive of Swissport U.K.

Fernley/IAS will be renamed Gate Aviation Services. The acquired companies offer a comprehensive range of aviation special services including aircraft cabin cleaning, aircraft washing and de-icing, security activities such as baggage screening and document verification, airport executive lounges, and passenger services, such as wheelchair and unaccompanied minor assistance.

Daniel's new responsibility covers the operations in the U.K. and Ireland and his appointment is effective Dec. 1, 2007. He will report to Gary Morby, the founder of Fernley/IAS, who continues to lead the companies, which also include Specialist Airport Services, European Airport Services and Airfield Services, Ltd. The companies operate primarily in the U.K., including all four London-area airports, as well as in Amsterdam, Brussels and several other regional airports in France and the Netherlands.
