RESTON, Va., April 29, 2008 – gategroup, the leading provider of above-the-wing services that includes airline caterer Gate Gourmet and 10 other brands, today announced executive-level changes.
Effective May 1, Chairman and CEO David Siegel will assume the role of Executive Chairman. President Guy Dubois is appointed President & CEO Designate.
“This year has already seen the group take significant steps in positioning ourselves for continued development and growth. The timing is now right for us to take another step towards the organization that will lead us into the future,” Siegel said. “My role as Executive Chairman will enable me to increase my focus on the governance requirements of an organization of our new scale and status.”
In his extended role, Dubois will take on additional responsibility for the reporting of the company’s West & South Europe Region and the Latin American Region in addition to his current oversight role of the Central Europe, Middle East & Africa and Asia Pacific regions.
Siegel will continue his responsibility for the North American Region with Group SVP and President Andrew Gibson continuing to report directly to him. This will provide continuity in a period of change, both in terms of support for the North American business and in contacts at a senior level with customers in the region.
In the revised structure, Siegel’s direct reports are:
• Guy Dubois, President & CEO Designate
• Andrew Gibson, SVP & President North America
• Hooman Yazhari, Group SVP & General Counsel
• Richard Wells, Group SVP Human Resources
• Kevin Didion, President, Gate Safe
• John Bronson, Managing Director, Corporate Communications
Dubois will have responsibility for all remaining regions, new businesses and corporate functions. Reporting to him are:
• Eric Born, Group SVP & President West & South Europe
• Philippe op de Beeck, Group SVP & President Central Europe, Middle East & Africa
• Mark Wall, Group SVP & President Asia Pacific
• Edwin Garcia, Group VP & President Latin America
• Herman Anbeek, Group SVP & Chief Commercial Officer
• Thomas Bucher, Chief Financial Officer
• Ed Mitzel, Group SVP & Chief Information Officer
• Three gategroup member companies: Pourshins, Gate Aviation and Supplair.
“When I announced Guy’s appointment as President at the beginning of the year, I explained that the Group needed robust plans to ensure continuity of leadership going forward. This next stage in our development puts those plans firmly in place while maintaining our absolute focus on our customers and our operations in what is going to be a challenging year,” Siegel said.
“I would like to congratulate Guy and to wish him well in this extended role. Together, Guy and I are confident we will lead gategroup to continued success in 2008 and beyond,” he added.
