ZURICH, January 17, 2008 – Gate Gourmet kitchens in Frankfurt, Germany, and Madrid, Spain, added new business during the month of December with newly-launched TAM flights from each city.
The Gate Gourmet kitchen in Frankfurt provides catering for TAM's daily flight to Sao Paulo, operated by a leased Airbus 340-500 configured with Business and Economy cabins, with 267 seats.
Dec. 22 marked the first day that Gate Gourmet catered TAM's newest international addition from the Spanish capital of Madrid. Flight service is provided on Airbus A330 aircraft, also with Business and Economy classes.
"Our culinary and operations teams have long worked with TAM to deliver innovative catering options that foster appreciation for TAM's unique brand. We are delighted to have earned the carrier's new Frankfurt and Madrid business, which is a testament to our strong relationship and a mutual desire to further the cooperation between the two companies," said Rodrigo Decerega, Gate Gourmet Vice President of Sales and Service - Latin America.
"We have been pleased with the heavy demand for our newest destinations in Madrid and Frankfurt and appreciate Gate Gourmet's efficient performance during both startups. It is important that our passengers are extremely happy, and we have experienced two of the smoothest startups, specifically on the catering side, in our operations history," said TAM's Marketing Director Manoela Amaro.
TAM (http://www.tam.com.br) has been the leader in the Brazilian domestic market since July 2003, and held a 49.3% domestic market share and 65.3% international market share at the end of August 2007.
