Moe Nicholas Elmaher, CEC, joined Gate Gourmet as a Product Development Executive Chef in August 2006.

The competitive nature of quality foodservice keeps Chef Moe busy. He travels regularly throughout the Gate Gourmet network to assist kitchens with menu presentations and improvements in quality and production.

The Moroccan-born chef completed his four-year apprenticeship with Le Cordon Bleu in Paris, France, in French-Classical & Nouvelle Cuisine, Continental, Contemporary and Mediterranean Cuisine. His culinary offerings were enjoyed by the Garimaldi family in Monaco, where he served as their private cook and also prepared special cuisine for Princess Grace Kelly.

Chef Moe also has expertise in Halal food, specializing in the exacting process of Halal meat production, and offers unparalleled talent in Middle Eastern cuisine. These skills served him well when he organized two exclusive events for the late King Hassan II of Morocco. The elaborate functions were attended by 6,000 guests from various parts of the world.

Chef Moe also served as the Executive Chef for the Monte Carlo Resort and Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada. Other famous area landmarks know Chef Moe well: the Las Vegas Hilton Resort and Casino, The Resort of Summerlin, and the Green Valley Ranch Resort and Casino. He also participated in menu design for Planet Hollywood in Las Vegas.

A Las Vegas food magazine recognized Chef Moe as the youngest Executive Chef in Nevada at the time, and he also was praised for his "Best Ethnic Design" by the Las Vegas Review-Journal in 2005.

Chef Moe has over 25 years of catering experience, including LSG Sky Chefs in Miami, and Continental Airlines Chelsea Catering in Houston, Texas. "I enjoy the level of creativity involved in the numerous menu designs and cycle changes inherent to airline catering," he said.

Family is important to Chef Moe, and when he's not traveling, he enjoys being at home in Houston, Texas, with his daughter. He keeps in regular contact with his family in Casablanca, Morocco, and they have been known to spend countless hours talking about their love of soccer! His extended family shares his love of food, and he enjoys cooking for them. When not cooking for his family or Gate Gourmet's customers, Chef Moe also finds time to serve up delicious meals for events at his church.
