Chef Carlos Gonzalez

Carlos Gonzalez is an Executive Product Engineering Menu Design Chef with Gate Gourmet, primarily responsible for Latin American carriers. Carlos joined the company in October 2005 as a Sous Chef in the Washington Dulles kitchen and quickly was promoted to his current position.

Based in Sterling, Virginia, Chef Carlos regularly travels to major kitchen hubs across the U.S., collaborating with colleagues on various in-flight menus. In late 2006, he worked closely with Gate Gourmet Chefs Bob Rosar and Danielle Nahal, as well as Thai Airways Food Consultant and New York-based Master Thai Chef Veera Premon, in preparing Thai Airways' menu for flights out of New York JFK.

Chef Carlos' love for the culinary arts started in childhood, when he helped prepare meals in his family's kitchen. Nowadays, when not preparing menu items in Gate Gourmet kitchens, he enjoys visiting with family members and friends, playing basketball and oil painting. He also plays the bongo drums, which he learned in 2001 after graduating from culinary school and working at a restaurant that featured flamenco dancers. He did not advise whether he dances, as well.
