



Jorge Raul Romero is an Executive Chef and Production Manager at Gate Gourmet Bogotà in Colombia, South America.
Chef Jorge's specialty is seafood, but he is an expert in other aspects of cooking, as well. Chef Jorge leads all production planning for the Bogotà facility, including the coordination of more than 7,000 services a day produced by different areas of the unit, such as Hot Production; Cold Production; Bakery and Packing.
In addition, Chef Jorge provides support to other kitchens in the region, including Argentina, Perù and Ecuador, as well as to units in the U.S. He also assisted with the Latin America Culinary Academy in 2004-2005 and with other events hosted by Gate Gourmet regarding Latin American cuisine.
Chef Jorge joined Gate Gourmet in February 1997, at which time he was based in Peru. A little over two years later, he moved to Ecuador to support the kitchen there. In May of 2003, he moved to Colombia.
Prior to joining Gate Gourmet, Chef Jorge learned and practiced the culinary arts in the Kempinski Grand Hotel des Bains St. Moritz in Switzerland. There he was recognized for his abilities and earned a gold cup in 1991. Chef Jorge also worked as a chef for Swissair in Basel and Zurich, Switzerland; Cairo, Egypt; Madrid, Spain; and Johannesburg, South Africa.
