Catering Exchange Portal

To increase efficiency, Gate Gourmet has an in-house-designed Catering Exchange Portal (CxP).

CxP is a unique, easy-to-use real-time forecasting and service order dispatch system. This state-of-the-art web-based system can be used to:

• Manage flight service schedules
• Maintain catering rules for the Bill of Materials breakdown
• Generate material demand forecasts
• Create and manage catering service orders

The rollout of CxP is aligned with Gate Gourmet's related implementation of hosting and network infrastructure, as well as the introduction of SAP to global units.

Because Gate Gourmet is funneling all production planning and control into SAP, we are creating huge efficiency benefits over the distributed systems currently in use at our kitchens. SAP is the market leader in Enterprise Resource Planning, supply chain and business solutions software. With this partnership, Gate Gourmet is poised to become the most efficient caterer there is. This means more enhanced services for our customers.

Based on airline-driven information sent through CxP -- flight schedule, passenger count, catering rules and similar data -- material demand forecast information and service orders will be sent instantly to SAP, which in turn provides kitchens a specific breakdown of food and beverage needs for individual flights by carrier.

Airlines will always be in control of their individual branding, as well as determining what product they want to board on their planes, but Gate Gourmet through its eGate Solutions approach can take it from there.

And eGate Solutions will continue to contribute to catering processes and systems in the future, as the CxP suite is enhanced.
